Nail-Down Installation
Nail-down installation secures hardwood directly to a suitable wood subfloor. Flooring cleats or approved fasteners hold each row in position while allowing the floor to function as intended.
This method commonly suits solid hardwood and some engineered products. Subfloor thickness, condition and fastening also need evaluation before installation begins.
Concrete slabs do not provide the same fastening surface, so you may need a different flooring system or additional construction.
