Hardwood Floor Installation
Hardwood installation requires careful preparation because wood responds to changes in moisture and indoor conditions. The right installation method depends on whether the product is solid or engineered hardwood, as well as the subfloor type.
Solid hardwood commonly uses nail-down or staple-down installation over suitable wood subfloors. Engineered hardwood can provide additional options, including glue-down or floating systems when approved by the manufacturer.
Covering an unsuitable substrate with new hardwood can lead to problems that are difficult to correct later.
