What to Do Immediately After Flooring Water Damage

by mzulqurnain654@gmail.com August 14, 2026 0 Comments

The first 24-48 hours after a leak or flood matter more than almost anything else for how much of your flooring can be saved. Remove standing water as soon as it’s safe to do so, get air moving through the space with fans or open windows, and avoid walking on affected hardwood or laminate until it’s been assessed.

Don’t wait to see if it dries out on its own — trapped moisture under flooring is exactly what leads to warping, mold, and subfloor damage. If you’re dealing with a spill or leak, give us a call before it has a chance to spread.
